Control4 programmed by someone who has done it for over 10 years
Our owner, Sebastian Posada, has personal Control4 and Lutron training and more than 10 years of experience designing and programming home automation. A smart home is only as good as its programming: the scenes, schedules and buttons should match the way your family actually lives, and they should still make sense to a guest or a house sitter.
One team for the wiring, the permit and the programming
Most smart home problems start behind the wall: a missing neutral, an overloaded circuit, a rack with no dedicated power, or a network that was never planned. Many integrators have to hire an electrician for that part. We are the electrician. We prepare electrical drawings in house, and our in-house permit expediting team handles your permit, so your project doesn't wait on paperwork.
- Electrical drawings prepared in house for remodels, additions and new construction
- Permits filed and tracked by our in-house permit expediting team when your project needs one
- Dedicated circuits, surge protection and backup power for your equipment rack
- Panel upgrades when the house needs more capacity. See electrical panel replacement and upgrades.
- Low voltage cabling for keypads, touch screens, speakers, cameras and Wi-Fi access points. See low voltage wiring.
You deal with one company from the plan to the last button, and when something needs attention later, you know who to call.
What a Control4 system can control in your home
Lighting
Control4 keypads and dimmers replace a wall full of switches with a few engraved buttons, such as "Welcome," "Dinner," "Movie" or "Goodnight." One press can set every light in a room, or the whole house. Lights can follow schedules, sunrise and sunset, or motion. If you already have Lutron lighting, Control4 can work with it, too. See Lutron lighting control in Sunrise and our lighting design and installation.
Motorized shades
South Florida sun is strong. Motorized shades can lower on a schedule to cut glare and heat in the afternoon, rise in the morning, and close at night for privacy, all tied to the same scenes as your lights. See motorized shades.
Music and TVs in every room
Stream music to ceiling speakers in the kitchen, the lanai and the pool deck, or send a movie to the family room TV without hunting for remotes. See home theater and audio/video installation.
Climate, cameras, locks and gates
Control4 can adjust thermostats, show camera feeds on a touch screen or TV, lock the doors and arm the alarm with a "Goodnight" scene, and open the gate from the car. When you leave for a trip, one "Away" button can do all of it.
Voice and the Control4 app
Control4 works with popular voice assistants, and the Control4 app lets you check on the house and run scenes from anywhere. Control4's current platform, Control4 X4, requires a Control4 Connect or Assist subscription. We explain what the subscription includes before you decide.
Keypads, touch screens and remotes
Control4 gives you several ways to control the house, and we help you choose the right mix for each room:
- Control4 keypads with custom engraved buttons, so anyone can use them
- T4 touch screens, in-wall or tabletop, for a kitchen, entry or main bedroom
- Halo remotes for the TV and the rest of the system
- The Control4 app on your phone or tablet
- Voice control through popular voice assistants
At the center is a Control4 controller (the CORE series) that runs the programming, plus a network built to keep everything connected.
How a Control4 project works with Watt's Up
- Walkthrough and goals. We visit, look at your home, plans and existing wiring, and listen to how you want to live in it.
- Design. We lay out the keypads, screens, speakers, shades, network and rack, and prepare any electrical drawings in house.
- Written quote. You get a clear written quote with the equipment, labor and scope.
- Permits. When your project needs a permit, our in-house permit expediting team files and tracks it with the building department.
- Wiring and installation. Our licensed team pulls the wire, installs the devices, builds the rack and makes any electrical upgrades.
- Programming. We program your scenes, schedules and buttons, then fine-tune them with you.
- Handoff. We walk your family through the system, in English or Spanish, and stay available when you want changes.
New construction, remodels and existing homes
New construction and down-to-the-studs remodels: this is the best time to plan Control4. Wiring for keypads, speakers, shades, cameras and Wi-Fi goes in before the drywall closes. Bring us in when the plans are being finalized, and we will coordinate with your builder, architect and designer.
Finished homes and condos: you don't have to open every wall. Control4 has wireless lighting and many devices that connect over your network, so a finished house or a high-rise condo can still get a system. We start with the rooms that matter most and grow from there.
Pre-wiring for later: not ready for the full system? We can run the wire now, while the walls are open, so adding Control4 later is simple.
Have an existing Control4 system?
Bought a home that came with Control4, or wondering whether your system is out of date? We can evaluate existing Control4 systems. Older Control4 equipment, such as T3 touch screens and first- and second-generation Control4 lighting, is not supported in Control4 updates after X4 (OS 4.0). We'll look at what you have and explain what still works and what may need to be replaced.
Control4 for homes in Sunrise and nearby
Sunrise has everything from 1970s houses in Sunrise Lakes and Welleby to newer homes and gated communities on the west side near Sawgrass Mills. Older homes often need panel and wiring updates before a smart home goes in. Newer homes usually have the capacity but need a plan for the network and rack. Condos have their own rules for work inside the unit, and we can help you sort them out with your association. Because we handle the electrical work in house, we can plan for all of it from day one. See our Sunrise electrician page.
We also design and install Control4 systems in Plantation, Weston, Davie, other Broward cities.

What is Control4?
Control4 is a home automation platform that ties lighting, shades, music, TVs, climate, cameras, locks and more into one system. Do I have to rewire my house for Control4?
Not always. New construction and major remodels are the easiest time to wire for it, but Control4 also has wireless lighting and network-connected devices for finished homes and condos. We look at your home first and tell you what makes sense.
Can Control4 work with Lutron lighting and shades?
Yes. Control4 can integrate with Lutron lighting and shade systems, so one keypad or one app runs both. We check your exact equipment during the walkthrough.
